Book for November

The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith

This is the first of a series of 8 books. The last one just came out in April 2007. One of my friends says she loves these books. I've never read them, but they have been international best sellers. You can find them for pretty cheap on Amazon. They're probably at your local library as well.

This book is available in paperback, has 256 pages, and is published by Abacus.

I've read the first two books and loved them. They are so simple yet extremely enjoyable. I love the speech and language used. I really felt like I was in africa. Good choice on the books.

Just started the book and haven't been able to put it down. I am finding it very intriguing. The author has a way of getting you to like and care about the characters almost immediately. Also like a previous comment said, you really do feel like you are right there in Africa.

I'm about 30 pages away from finishing this book and I love it! I hope more of you will read it so we can have a great discussion on it later this month. I'll be posting some questions and thoughts later this week. Darla--is it safe to bet that you'll read a few more of this series? :)
